From Kirkvsille to Cape Town

Hello friends!

I've been in Cape Town for just over a week now, and could not have enjoyed it more. Our days are incredibly full and I can't think of words to describe everything I've learned so far about South Africa and its people. I guess I'll settle with saying that what I've seen so far has been both beautiful and heart wrenching; an uneasy mix of poverty, passion, and pure, natural beauty.

We've spent the last week touring around the Cape Town area.  Provincial Elections took place on Wednesday, and it was fun to see how South Africans interpret and effectuate democracy. Thursday was slotted to be the first day of my internship, but a sudden fever kept me in bed for the day. I was back on my feet today for more sight seeing and could not be more excited to begin my internship at Tafelsig Clinic on Monday.

Here are some pictures from the first few days with more to come. Pictures are not in short supply (Thank you, Abby. You're the best). I love and miss you all and hope everything is well at home! Let me know if you are pinning for any specific South African souvenirs. I can make it happen.
